LATEX-FREE ELASTIC NONWOVEN FABRICS
VitaFlex employs a unique manufacturing technology that can be used for creating cross-directional soft stretch elasticity with thermally bonded nonwovens. This technology provides a process for treating fabrics at high speeds, enabling a wide range of practical cross stretch/elastic fabrics with unique performance characteristics and high uniformity.  Examples include polypropylene spunbond fabrics with up to 70% recovery at 150% elongation, and higher stretch fabrics with up to 400% elongation. This innovative technology is latex-free and utilizes no elastomeric polymers.
VitaFlex elastic nonwoven fabrics greatly expand the application of nonwoven fabrics in making many innovative and higher quality products by eliminating the use of latex/rubber straps and simplifying the production process, thus also dramatically lowering the cost.  The elastic nonwoven technology produces fabrics which can be utilized “as is?for limited use applications or in conjunction with other materials to form composites, and durable products.
The application of elastic nonwovens is further beneficial to consumers in that the new straps-free, form fitting disposable products provide superior softness, and superior comfort. The latex-free nonwoven products are also more environmentally friendly due to less harmful emissions in the waste incineration process.

Nonlatex Soft-stretch Hoods

The research and development invested in these hoods is in response to the need to have a comfortable, protective head-cover with excellent respiratory filtration protection.  Because they are made from latex-free elastic nonwoven fabric, they are

  • non-irritating, tissue-soft, high stretch with low contractive force
  • excellent comfortability and breathability for improved wearing comfort
  • can be constructed to provide excellent barrier functionality and filtration performance

Form-fitting, light weight with stress-free comfort

Soft-stretch hoods are soft and form fitting to the wearer without the irritating stress from overly restrictive elastic components.
Different designs are possible which expose eyes only, eyes and nose, or eyes, nose and mouth, and all without restriction of peripheral vision.
 

Outstanding Protection

The product design characteristics of hoods can include high filtration protection provided through a multi-layer structure having ultra fine porosity and filtering capability.  These head-covers can provide superior protection from spray, dust, and other airborne particles as well as protection from bacteria.  They also can block wind, sun, sand, or other demanding conditions in the elements.



Rubber Free to be Environmental Friendly

Because no latex or synthetic rubber materials are used, it allows the recycling of these products, and eliminates the emission of dioxin and other noxious gases during the waste incineration process.
The soft-stretch hood provides excellent primary facial protection and filtration efficiency can be incorporated to fit the needs of many different work environments:

    • For use in construction, mining, sanitation, and waste management, for blocking dirt, dust, airborne particles, and airborne liquids.
    • For laboratories and factories for protection against powder, bacteria and harmful chemicals.
    • For outdoor activities to shield against sunburn, wind-chill, and wind-blown sand.
    • For medical use to provide bacterial and particle filtration efficiency with good Delta –P for breathability
    • They can also be used as a liner under hard hats, emergency respirators and other facial protection equipment.
